Last day of the raw food cleanse. How’s it going?
I have already had reports of people starving themselves and still not really understanding the merits and ways of a raw food diet. It’s a hard one to get your head around if you have not been exposed to the idea of eating raw before. As I keep saying ‘it’s not all apples…and carrots’.
Today I had to revive a client with dates before class as she had been only drinking green juice for 2 days! Her blood sugar levels were so low she was weak and I’m sure that her body thought it was being starved!
Which by the way, if you are wanting to loose weight, just encourages the body to hold onto the fat because it still has the instincts of being a caveman…..when food is scarce it holds on to the stored fat until the next opportunity to eat…just in case it’s going to be a while before you can find the next source of bush tucker or a lizard to eat!
Drinking green juice alone is all well and good if you have a balanced green juice but you can not sustain your normal day to day activities without a balance of the food groups ie. fats, sugars, carbohydrates and proteins in every meal.
Here is a great recipe of a balanced raw breakfast for you to try and start the day with. Eating a balance breakfast will enable you to maintain your energy and keep your metabolism happy through to morning tea and in turn burn the calories.
